Hellloooo

My name is Tom Nyuma, but most people just call me Nyuma. i'm a full-stack software engineer (why i don't lean frontend or backend) building things before robots make me and you obsolete.

I greatly enjoy building apps, platforms, and tools that don't take your money, data, or privacy - yet bring tremendous joy and value to people (why i don't sell my projects). to non-nerds, i'm a huge geek over performing arts (WGI, DCI, BOA), love to write (random thoughts), and seek great thrills.

Outside of building tools of the future, I find solace in reading, particularly (manga) and (life) books. in a past life, i was a mega-band kid. all state musician, did DCI, performed at Carnegie Hall, in the thanksgiving parade, and toured all over the USA.

These days, i spend most of my time with my significant other - exploring cities, minding my business, thrill-seeking, learning new things about the world, and enjoying this one life we have on this planet we call earth.

i'm Tom Nyuma, but most people just call me Nyuma. i'm an everything software engineer building things before robots make me and you obsolete.

most of my engineering ardency is in local-first software (what's that?) and design systems. although, i do enjoy expressive type systems, low-level browser APIs, and building mobile apps.

outside of tech, i find solace exploring urban areas and nature. additionally, i'm a huge performing arts geek, absolutely love writing (random thoughts) and reading a lot of (manga) and (life) books.
